On Setbacks

You know, sometimes things just don't go your way. The semester is over and I was planning on taking a week off to do absolutely nothing and regroup. Then work gets crazy busy and the system drive on my computer fails. Massively. For a guy who preaches (if preach is a strong enough word) about the virtues of backups, I don't seem to take my own advice very well. I hadn't created a backup since I switched to Win7 back in August. Oops. Fortunately most of the information that I created or changed was on one of the other hard drives in my rig. Unfortunately that doesn't include the comic. I've lost (the drive failure was catastrophic, the only data I could pull off of it using some fairly sophisticated software and about 10 hours time was information off of a virtual machine I had. Go figure) all of the raw comic data that I've created since August. While that's not a lot, it does include a significant amount of screenshots that I had taken.

The comics will return, and I will finish, even if it kills me. It's just going to be a little longer since I have to reinstall a bunch of software and do screen-grabs again.

Edit: While I'm at it, I will be upgrading Comic Press, too. So if the site is broken every one in a while, please bear with me.

Getting close to the 31st so that means it’s getting close to regular posts again. I’ve got a buffer going, and I’m still working on making it bigger. It’s not quite as large as I want it to be, but it will serve its purpose. I’m going to do a Tuesday/Thursday update schedule for now, and that should guarantee regular posts until the new year.

Whee, did an upgrade to both WordPress and ComicPress. Still on schedule for an August 31st post of the next comic (and subsequent comics).

Updates are coming soon, I’m currently finishing up the comics for the first movie, so I’ll have a good buffer going for this coming semester (and hopefully more). I’m working on another project along with this one and you can check out the progress on that at my other site polskabrainjelly.

Of course you didn’t. Did I say a short vacation? Well it turned into an extended period of absence. Much needed. I’m back now, and making comics again to litter the Internet. I’m going to a Tuesday/Thursday update schedule for now, and I’m working on getting my buffer back so "extended absences" don’t happen. Anyway, Tuesday will have a new comic up, and then the Thursday after that, and so on.

On Vacation… Sort of

The comic updates will be on hold until next Wednesday as I have been preparing to go out of town, and will be out of town thus preventing me from creating any new comics and updating the site. Yep, I don’t have a buffer, haven’t had one since the fall semester started. Anyway, I’ll be back with a new comic, for better or worse, next Wednesday, October 22nd.
